Tony Vidaurri wrestled for Vacaville High School, was a CIF State Medalist in 1985, and an extremely charismatic young man. Tony did not break into the varsity lineup until his senior year, but despite this he wrestled his way to the CIF State semi-finals.  Tony was a model student, a leader in the room, and a professional on campus.

Shortly following the state tournament his senior year, Tony’s life was tragically ended when his car was hit by a drunk driver.  We honor the memory of Tony by bestowing each year an award in his name to a wrestler on the team.  The award is given to a young man who embodies the qualities that Tony himself maintained – perseverance, heart, overcoming adversity, excelling in the classroom, and being a great teammate.
